"The last day of school was when I really lost it."

-- Hava, in Matthue Roth's Never Mind the Goldbergs
Matthue Roth is a vegetarian, but he still thinks his grandmom's chicken soup smells good. He's a slam poet and the author of several novels including Never Mind the Goldbergs, Losers, and Candy in Action, as well as the memoir Yom Kippur a Go-Go. Matthue often lectures about being a Hasidic Jew, a punk, and a parent, even though he's still about fourteen years old mentally. He has lived in Washington DC, Prague, San Francisco, Hollywood, and Jerusalem, and now mostly hangs out in New York.
